The Vermont STR Registration Requirement
Every Vermont operator must register with the state Department of Taxes, hold a Meals & Rooms tax account, and meet state fire and safety self-certification standards. Larger homes may need a Division of Fire Safety inspection. Lodgism handles registration and compliance for every property we manage.
The VT Meals & Rooms Tax
Stays under 30 days are taxed: Vermont's 9% Meals & Rooms tax, plus a local option tax up to 1% in many towns, and ski towns may add their own lodging tax. Airbnb collects much of this automatically, but the operator is responsible for accuracy. We manage collection and filing for you.
